PRWEB) July 1, 2005 -- MetaTrieval Software’s patent-pending database meta-data search engine has now been enhanced to provide a new “XML Match” ability for correlating XML vocabularies with internal database meta-data. XML elements and attributes can now be mapped to in-house database, table and column descriptions with simple clicks of a mouse. Second and third-party B2B XML schemas, either custom or standard, can be easily cross-referenced to database elements with MetaTrieve’s new XML matcher.
XML notation has been enormously successful as an interchange standard for B2B exchanges. However, when creating XML documents that both parties will use for a data exchange processes, rarely do the specific business terms defined by the element and attribute tags correlate to the internal database vocabularies and taxonomies of either the sending or receiving partner, even if using government standard or industry-specific XML schemas. Matching XML to legacy database systems is even a greater challenge due to abbreviated meta-data labels and naming standards.
MetaTrieve now enables the automated mapping of XML business terms with in-house terms and thus saves considerably on data discovery time for developers.
